Job enlargement is like job rotation in that it broadens the variety that a task can have. However, it is different than job rotation in that it combines two or more tasks that were assigned before to different employees. These assignments are normally completed quickly prior to or after the task performed in the original job. This is occasionally called horizontal loading, which is when early work stages or later work stages are pulled into the job.
